A brand new Hilton Garden Inn Hotel has opened recently in the historic centre of Bucharest. The building is located at the end of Smardan street – an important pedestrian route in the city centre – and right next to the impressive historic building of the National Bank of Romania. Even though it sits amongst many buildings of great historical and cultural importance, the recently opened hotel attracts all the attention due to its renovated facades and its distinct contemporary rooftop.

At the north west corner of the Olympic Park and north east of Hackney Wick the building of Here East stands out with its new facade and strong graphics. Here East is the successful transformation of the former Media Centre, a building used during the Olympic games to broadcast the event. Ever since the games have finished, the developer had the idea to transform the over sized building into a multi purpose space that would bring together the many tech firms and small creative companies that started moving to Hackney Wick in the last few years.

Aldermanbury Square is an 18 storey office building located in the City of London, next to London Wall. Designed by Architect Eric Parry, it was completed in 2007 and has been nominated for the Stirling Prize in 2009. Despite its location among the tallest office buildings in London, it is visible and easily noticed from many city angles.
